www.phuketdining.com http Nai Yang Beach Seaside Dining Tour 2008 Here is a tour of the road just behind Nai Yang beach, I just want to show you all the nice little seaside dining locations you can enjoy, dining up here on the beach is very simple and the fresh Thai food and seafood is one of the best on the Island of Phuket Nai Yang Beach Phuket one of the best beaches in Phuket to enjoy kite boarding and wind surfing, the winds up at this location are always good. Nai Yang beach is a pretty large beach and the open bay to the ocean is always a beautiful setting. I like to come up to Nai Yang about once a week to enjoy these water activities and of course see the beautiful surroundings. If you have always wanted to kite board or wind surf there are 3 -4 good shops that will teach you this sport, most shops offer around the same price for their lessons so you just have to take your pick, if you are traveling in a group, they offer some pretty good group prices. The one thing about kite boarding or wind surfing once you start, you are hooked; it really is that fun. Nai Yangbeach is very close to the airport; about 10 minutes, and if you want to go south to Patong the drive is about 45 minutes, I live in Kata beach and it usually takes me about 50 minutes to get to Nai Yang beach. Similan Islands with Thailand Liveaboards Just 60 miles northwest of Phuket, lie the Similan Islands. The word 'Similan' comes from the Malaysian word 'sembilan' (which means the number 'nine'). The Similan Island National Park is without doubt the most prestigious marine park in Thailand and easily accessible via Thailand liveaboards. Running from south to north and numbered accordingly, lie these truly unspoilt granite islands. With crystal clear seas and stunning coral formations, no wonder Jacques Cousteau believed it to be, one of the best diving destinations in the world. The islands, best experienced on Thailand liveaboards, are densely covered with tropical vegetation, offering short and easy adventure trekking through the rainforest jungles. Due to the raging south west monsoon, the exposed south, west and north sides of each island, offer stunning underwater scenery. What you see above is what you get below. I love everything about this beach and spend quite a bit of time at it, I live up on the northern end of the beach, if you love to walk, run and swim Kata beach is the place to go, and even during the high season you wont feel crowded, the beach is much more laid back than Patong and the scenery is very gorgeous. I have two of my distance swim routes on this beach; the PU island swim and I also like to swim from the south and make my way to the north end, both swim routes really give you a good swim workout, just be careful on some of the rip currents you will see the flags on the beach, they are located near Club med Resort beach area, so just be cautious when swimming in that area.
