Does Malaysia or Vietnam have the best tropical islands in South East Asia for a holiday?
Hi! My husband and I have spent our last two holidays in Phuket and Koh Samui in Thailand. For our holiday in December year, we would like to visit another country but can't decide.
We are looking for a beautiful tropical island in either Malaysia or Vietnam, with beautiful beaches that are safe for swimming.
Does anyone know what the best islands are to visit? We are looking for islands similar to Phuket and Koh Samui, ones that have touristy areas but also have unspoiled beaches.
Any advice on hotels or resorts will also be appreciated! Thanks!
Which Thailand Islands To Visit?
i will be going at the end of July with a couple friends. im having a hard time trying to decide which islands to see.
We plan on being out there for 6-8 days.
what will the weather be like that time of year?
what we are looking for:
-pristine beaches
-not too touristy
-be able to explore without running into tons of people
-bungalows on the beach or right next to the beach (cheap)
-some nightlife(what i mean is bars, not a club)
i've kind of narrowed it down to 2 main islands:
Phi Phi & Ko Sumai
my question is with both of these islands you can take day or overnight trips to the island nearby?
should i do Phi Phi & which nearby islands?
or Ko Sumai & its nearby islands?
i really want to go to Ko Lipe, but its a little too far.
Advice on visiting islands in Thailand…?
For our honeymoon in March 2010 we are planning on spending 3 nights in Hong Kong, then 5 nights in Chang Mai and then have another 5 nights remaining. Now I want to find a base island so that we can do day trips from that island to all the smaller isalnds in Thailand, so I was thinking of Koh Samui? What do you think can we use this as a base to the visit other places each day? Is there lots to see and do as we dont want just pure beach and lounging around!
any advice is greatly appreciated!
