Travel To Thailand More Than 90 Days? New Visa Rules From October 1, 2006

Have you been in Thailand before? Thailand has many of the best beaches and islands in the world. The culture is unique and people are friendly. Many of foreigners are relocating to Thailand for several reasons.

In the town, Bangkok, has all the civilize and technology. Convenient transportation by Bus, Sky train and underground transportation. There is also boat transportation for the river, Chao Praya River, which is in the center of capital city.

Night life in Bangkok is very crowd of people. There is pub and bar for straights and gays on the same road in Silom and many areas.

Before October 1, 2006, get Thailand visa is very easy. Many countries can have visa on arrival for 30 days. Then just leave at any border and get in again you will get another 30 days waive visa stamp.

Now all change!

"On October 1 the Kingdom of Thailand introduced a new visa policy to restrict the number of times a foreigner can enter the country during a certain period of time.

The policy states that one can only stay in Thailand for 90 days in a period of six months, after which one must leave the country and stay outside for another 90 days before they can re-enter."

This mean you will still get 30 days visa on arrival and if it going to expire, you just leave at the border and get in again you will get another 30 days. If you already stay in Thailand for 90 days, you need to leave the country or stay outside for another 90 days!

If you apply for visa at any Thailand Embassy, you will get 60 days single entry visa and then you can extend only another 30 days for 1,900 Baht. ($US 50)

Vsa expiration date as shown on the visa, is called visa validity.

The Expiration Date for the visa should not be confused with the authorized length of your stay in Thailand, given to you by the immigration officer at port-of-entry. The visa expiration date has nothing to do with the authorized length of your stay in Thailand for any given visit.

Travel in Thailand

A seaside beach city located about 150 km east of Bangkok, Pattaya is one of the not-to-be-missed locations when one visits Thailand.  A popular tourist spot for both Thai and foreigners alike, it offers all the conveniences of Bangkok plus all the sand, sea, and sun you can want.  Driving from Bangkok takes no more than 2 hours via Motorway ( Highway no.7 ) or Bangna-Trad Highway ( Highway no. 34 ).  You can take a leisurely three and a half hour train ride from Hua Lamphong Station, or a two and a half hour bus ride from either Eastern Bus Terminal, or Mochit 2 Bus Terminal, with scheduled departures every half hour from either terminal.
Surely the main purpose of going to the beach resort town is the sea, but there are a few places around Pattaya worth exploring.

Sanctuary of Truth (?????????????) This gigantic wooden structure is situated by the sea at Laem Ratchawet, North Pattaya. The sanctuary of Truth was first built in 1981 by Mr. Lek Wiriyaphan, the founder of the Ancient City in Samut Prakan Province. With exquisite architectural features, the building was conceived out of the vision that human civilisation has been achieved and nurtured by religious and philosophical truth.  It opens daily from 9.00 a.m.-6.00 p.m.  Admission fee is 500 baht. Tel. 0 3836 7229, 0 3836 7815   www.sanctuaryoftruth.com

The Million-Year Stone Park and Crocodile Farm (??????????????????????????????????) This popular attraction is 9 kilometres from Pattaya on Chaiyaphonwithi Road., off Highway No.3 at Kms.140. Hundreds of crocodiles as well as some rare animals, including albino bears and horses, are kept. There are crocodile shows, magic performances and animal shows.   The compound is open daily from 8.30 a.m.- 6.00 p.m.  Admission: 300 baht for adults and 150 baht for children. Tel. 0 3824 9347-9 or www.thaistonepark.org

Mini Siam (???????????????)
is located at Km. 143 on Sukhumvit Road., Highway No. 3. It celebrates the heritages of Thailand with miniature replicas of the most famous monuments and historical sites Miniature replicas of the Tower Bridge of London, Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty and Trevi Fountain are also displayed in the section called “miniworld”. The compound is open daily from 7.00 a.m.-10.00 p.m.  Admission: 250 baht for adults and 120 baht for children. Tel. 0 3842 1628, 0 3872 6201-3, 0 3872 7333 for more information. www.minisiam.com

Nong Mon Market is the central market one kilometer further on from the entrance to Bangsaen. Here can be found all types of fresh and dried sea food, local sweets and fruits (both fresh and preserved) as well as fruit rattan wares from nearby Amphoe Panat Nikhom.

Thailand Travel & Holiday Situation – Private Review

"Many hotels have already extended their promotions introduced some months after the closing of the two airports in Bangkok late last year," Thai Hotel Association president Prakit Chinamourphong said yesterday.

Occupancy is heading down to 30 per cent this month (Thailand Holiday Homes is not!)- half of the 60-per-cent rate seen last April, he said.

Instead of hotels private self catering villas in Pattaya enjoying a customers all around the world, with a perfect location, no surcharge, no hotel restrictions and private swimming pools.

Niramon Makornpruttipong, regional manager for administration and member-support services at Best Western International, said the hotel chain was offering 20-40-per-cent discounts at all of its properties in the Kingdom for the rest of the year.

Like other players, Best Western is also throwing in more amenities.

Erawan Group president and CEO Kasama Punyagupta said the impact of the recent riots was like that of the airport blockades last year.

"Hotels have been running 50-60-per-cent full, which is 10-15 percentage points off last year's level," he said. "Over the next four weeks, this most recent political unrest will no doubt put pressure on hotels' occupancy rates in a similar pattern as to what happened after the airport closures."

The recently opened Le Meridien Chiang Mai is reportedly cutting room rates more than 50 per cent in order to draw tourists.

The Le Meridien Khao Lak Beach & Spa Resort is selling a holiday package to locals and expat residents for Bt2,199 net per room per night. (We are still cheaper on average occupancy levels)

The deal includes daily breakfast for two, a 20-per-cent discount on food, 30-per-cent off of spa treatments and 20-per-cent less for airport transfers. This offer also comes with various stimulating recreational activities.

The Ambassador Hotel Bangkok is offering three nights of accommodation for the cost of two until October, while the Zeavola Resort on Krabi's Koh Phi Phi is offering a complimentary choice of a 60-minute massage for one or two persons per stay until June.(Big deal!)

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) yesterday announced a new campaign called "12 months, 7 Stars, 9 Suns" to boost domestic tourism all year round.

TAT chairman Weerasak Kowsurat said the TAT's board was reviewing if it would change the advertising agency for foreign markets from McCann, as well as the marketing theme. He said some foreign tour operators had stopped selling packages to Thailand. (That could be good news?)

To allay possible concerns over the recent swine-flu scare in Mexico, 21 TAT offices worldwide have issued a statement on Thailand's precautionary measures, using this opportunity to buff up the Kingdom's tourism image.

Today, Tourism Minister Chumpol Silapa-archa will present a tourism rescue package that includes insurance coverage for foreign tourists and preventive measures against the flu.

Following the Songkran riots, 29 countries and territories issued travel alerts for Thailand. Only three - France, Italy and Hong Kong - have downgraded their warnings.

Luxury Holiday in Thailand have never been that cheap, that?s why we suggest you choose ? self catering accommodation with private swimming pool which can be offered at reasonable price. Please check Thailand Guide Thailand Guide for more information.

Should I travel to Ko Chang, Thailand during September?

If I travel to the island of Ko Chang, Thailand for 4 days during September's monsoons, what are my chances of being rained in the whole time? Do I have a decent chance of enjoying the beach at all? Are the monsoons a little rain or torrential downpours?
